At the end of September, we warmly welcomed a delegation from Africa. Our most important customer in Africa – ALLIED TIMBERS Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, visited our company. ALLIED TIMBERS is a semi-state company from Zimbabwe and operates 10 sawmills, employs 1,500 people, manages over 60% plantation wood in their country and is the largest timber and forestry company in Zimbabwe. The delegation consisted of the company’s CEO, Mr. Remigio Nenzou, the corporate officer, the purchasing manager and a senior engineer.
The company’s delegation traveled to Fischbeck to accept the sawing system they had ordered and to hold further sales talks. This is now the 3-rd sawmill we have delivered to ALLIED TIMBERS. The system includes a semi-automatic log feeder, round-log measurement, a high-performance double-spindle circular saw type DBS-560 and various mechanization. The machines were demonstrated and inspected in the factory hall and on the company premises. The sawmill-line will soon be shipped to Zimbabwe in five sea-containers.
ALLIED TIMBERS is a growing company from Zimbabwe. As part of their expansion plans, they want to bring all of their sawmills up to the latest state of the art sawing technology. MS MASCHINENBAU has mature and proven technologies and quality from Germany – with more than 35 years of experience, high reliability, robustness and first-class components, we offer an ideal solution for a high-performance and cost-conscious sawmill. Our customers in 51 countries around the world appreciate all of this.
In 2014, we delivered the first sawmill to Zimbabwe. Since then, the Africans are no longer just our trading partners, but a friendly relationship has developed over the years. We could not ignore our 10-year business relationship and celebrated this anniversary with our customers with champagne and a shared lunch. The mayor of the city of Hessisch Oldendorf, Mr. Oenelcin, was invited and welcomed our guests. The managing director and owner of MS MASCHINENBAU Mr. Schmitz presented the CEO of ALLIED TIMBERS Mr. Nenzou with a wall plate honoring the ten-year relationship between the two companies.
In addition to the machines for the sawmill, we are also sending something else to Zimbabwe – children’s toys for a kindergarten that MS MASCHINENBAU and the family Schmitz have supported since 2020 and is located on an ALLIED company site. Every time a delivery goes to Zimbabwe, we pack toys and learning materials with it. A welcome gift for the children in the still very poor country. We are already looking forward to making the children happy!
